Sugar Industry Programme 2018-19

Want to learn more about the UK Sugar industry? Recruitment for the Sugar Industry Programme 2018/2019 is now under way!

 

The Sugar Industry Programme provides a fantastic opportunity to any grower who wishes to learn more about the UK Sugar industry and develop their professional skills. The programme which is in its ninth year of delivery is jointly funded by NFU Sugar and British Sugar and will start on the 22nd November 2018.

The SIP will once again consist of a wide range of visits that cover the entirety of the UK Sugar industry. Participants will get the opportunity to:

  • Visit the Germains Seed Technology processing facility
  • Take a tour around the Wissington Factory
  • Visit the British Beet and Research Organisation (BBRO) facilities in Norwich
  • Attend a two day event in Westminster, which includes a Parliamentary Reception in the House of Commons which is hosted by a Member of Parliament
  • Visit the KWS’s head offices in Einbeck, Germany
  • Attend the NFU National Conference. 
  • Gain media and presentation training

The programme will take place between November 2018 and March 2019 and includes a number of overnight stays. The programme includes travel and accommodation costs. Successful applicants are expected to attend all events within the programme
