BBRO Support Innovation Hub at Royal Norfolk Show

The BBRO were pleased to support the Innovation Hub at the Royal Norfolk Show, working alongside Agri-tech East.

The sugar beet crop in the UK has persistently delivered increasing yields over a number of years and BBRO are keen to push the crop further with new innovations in varieties, crop protection, soil management and crop recovery.   BBRO staff were on hand over the two days of the Show to speak to visitors including Environment Secretary Michael Gove, and Show President the Very Reverend Jane Hedges.

On the second day, Suzannah Cobb and Stuart Harder from the BBRO met Tim Heddema (agricultural attache from the Dutch Embassy) and Andrew Wood (Honorary Dutch Consul) .  Suzannah said 'Both men were enthusiastic about the projects and work they had seen in the Innovation Hub and the vital role innovation and collaboration plays within the agricultural industry.  They had a positive outlook on farming developments – as well as being keen to point out the role the Dutch played in establishing commercial sugar beet production in the UK!
